The Gratitude Game

Thanksgiving has such an ugly history • while keeping the truth of the origins of this holiday at the forefront of our minds, here is a way to connect to friends and family in celebration GRATITUDE • I love this heart-opening practice for any time during the year

when I gather with family or friends for the holidays, I bring post-it notes and markers • it's fun to ask everyone to write down three moments of gratitude from the course of their year • a combination of big and little wins • examples from my personal experience this year:

  1. I’m grateful for Palo and all of our travels together

  2. grateful for my health and that I’m able to train for the half-marathon I’m participating in in a few weeks

  3. grateful for The Florence and the Machine concert at the Hollywood Bowl because it was AMAZING

everyone writes their three, folds them up, and puts their post-its in a bag or container • at dinner we go around the table, each person picks a couple of shares from the bag, and reads them aloud • it's a simple but beautiful way to connect to your loved ones • and it’s especially helpful when people start arguing about politics!

i hope you enjoy this as much as I do and happy holidays from me (and Palo) to you • I am so grateful for each of you • from my heart, thank you for all the ways we have connected in 2022 • every interaction, each Instragram like, every hug and in-person meet • all those who participated in a mantra process, a breathwork circle, those who came to Joshua Tree, and anyone who purchased our creations • I SEE YOU! • you are truly appreciated and I feel so lucky to have you in my life in all the ways. If you feel alone or isolated this holiday season, send us an email (not a DM pls!), reach out, you are never alone!

xx,
